chalky chalk world

I've been trying to come up with different and exciting activities for the kids while we are living with Nana and Papa, so that they don't get bored or cause to much trouble.  I would also rather they didn't spend all day in front of a TV or computer.

One way to keep them busy and from trashing the house, is to play outside.  Unfortunately it's like 100-104 degrees around here most of the day, so playing outside is pretty miserable.  Usually we wait until around 6:30 or 7:00 before spending too much time outdoors.

Another draw back to playing outside is a lack of entertainment.  We did bring our sorry excuse for a swing, and our trampoline with a giant hole in the netting, but they are bored with those things.

While looking at the toys in Kohls, because we always have to look, even if we can't buy, we always have to look, even if it's the same exact stuff we looked at last week, we just have to look at the toys!!

Whoops lost my train of thought.

While looking at toys, I saw chalk and figured this could be fun, and it really was.

It kept Abigail and Jack entertained for quite a while that evening.  Austin didn't enjoy it quite as much.  His attention was only held for a few minutes before he was back in the house, which is why there aren't any pictures of him.

Enjoying the simple things!!
